After 8 years of software development Sinus Iridum was incorporated in Ireland in 2009 to address the need for companies to analyse complex data structures, and will have a multi-million euro turnover in the current year. Regulatory requirements demand that organisations store their data in case it is required at a later date. As a result organisations around the world are producing data faster than there is any meaningful way of analysing it. A study released by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, estimates that 1.5 billion gigabytes of information are created each year. That’s equivalent to every man, woman and child on Earth churning out a novel the size of ‘Moby Dick’ each week.
The business of the company is centred around the application of a new technology development called the Uncertainty Engine© (UE). The UE is able, when combined with state of the art computing systems, to learn on complex data and make meaningful predictions about possible outcomes. This process does not require pre-defined rules as in conventional computing software, but is able to find the rules in complex data structures in much the same way as a human learns and continuously applies that knowledge.
The UE has already been applied to several different industries but the near collapse of the Worldwide Financial System due to an inability to calculate or even understand complex risk scenarios has led the company to focus primarily on that sector where we are gaining worldwide recognition. Products developed around the UE are producing results in Financial Risk Analysis, Trading Fraud and Disruption Rectification to name but a few.
Our activities are global due to the interactive nature of the Global Financial community and in addition to London UK, we are currently addressing business in Milan, Mumbai, Zurich, Guernsey, New York and Tokyo.
The Management team has a wide range of industry expertise from technology start ups to full corporate governance.
